TROY, Ala. ­— Field conditions at Troy Softball Complex have been deemed unplayable due to heavy rains in the area overnight and through the morning; therefore, No. 18 University of South Alabama softball’s doubleheader versus the Trojans has been canceled.
 
Despite losing its fourth Sun Belt Conference contest to weather, USA (41-7, 17-3 SBC) has still secured the number-two seed for next weekend’s league tournament, also to be contested in Troy, after Western Kentucky claimed the SBC regular season title by sweeping Middle Tennessee on Friday.
 
The Jaguars will finish ahead of third-place Louisiana at Lafayette with a conference winning percentage of .850, despite how ULL performs against Louisiana at Monroe this weekend.
