ON THE ROAD WITH … TYLER KLAVA

Tyler Klava
ALPHARETTA, Ga. – The University of South Alabama’s Tyler Klava earned an individual berth to the NCAA Men’s Golf Championships, where he will report from Alpharetta, Ga., on the experience all week for usajaguars.com.  Klava wrote following the opening round Tuesday.

Woke up at 6:30 this morning. Headed out to the course at 7:15 for a quick breakfast and warm up before the round began at 9 a.m. I was a little nervous before the round began but once I hit the first tee shot all the nerves went away and it was just Coach, myself and the course.

Really played great all day except for one tee shot on 14, just couldn't quite the get the putts to fall. I ended up with a 73. Coach and I got some quality work in on the putting green afterwards and we feel great going into tomorrow’s round. I cannot wait to play again. The course is truly remarkable.

With such a late tee time tomorrow, we are all going to go dinner around 6 and then go see “Fast & Furious 6” which should be an epic movie. Tee time is 2:20 p.m. tomorrow off of No. 1. I’m really excited to get back on the course and see some putts fall and have fun.
