LOUISVILLE, Ky.
 — Five total University of South Alabama softball student-athletes were selected to the 2013 National Fastpitch Coaches’ Association Division I All-Region teams, the organization announced on Thursday

USA’s Hannah Campbell, Haley Fagan and Brittany Fowler were awarded South Region First-Team honors, while Farish Beard and Julie Moss earned Second-Team nods. More Jaguars were selected to the South Region teams than any other university, Alabama coming closest with four selections.

All but Hannah Campbell received their first-ever all-region accolades, as the Jaguar ace from Satsuma, Ala., made the list for the third consecutive season, second on the first team.

The all-region teams were chosen by NFCA-member coaches from each respective region, and all the honorees now become eligible for selection to one of three 2013 NFCA Division I All-American teams. In addition, conference pitchers and players of the year not selected to the regional teams were added for All-America consideration.

The 2013 NFCA Division I All-America teams will be announced at 4 p.m. CDT on Wednesday, May 29, via NFCA.org.
