MEN’S TENNIS ADDS KUHN TO 2014-15 ROSTER

MOBILE, Ala. – The University of South Alabama men's tennis program has announced that Warren Kuhn will join the team and play for the Jaguars in the 2014-15 season.

Kuhn, a native of Oakdene, Johannesburg, South Africa, is a transfer from Vincennes University. He is the first signee to the Jags' incoming 2014-15 class.

"Warren is going to be a great asset for this team," said USA head coach Nick Brochu. "We are very fortunate to have him sign with us and excited to have him starting next fall. His background is South African so that was a big advantage for us to already have South Africans on the team. Warren has a strong background, as far as training and his family. He comes from a very good environment so we're very confident he is going to be great for the team and fight for the top spot."

Entering his sophomore season, Kuhn is ranked fourth in the Intercollegiate Tennis Association in the Junior/Community College Preseason National Rankings. In preseason doubles rankings, Kuhn and partner Garrett Mandrell are No. 3.

As a freshman, Kuhn posted a 10-9 overall record primarily at the No.1 spot with a 3-1 JuCo record. He went undefeated at the Region 12 Tournament and posted a 1-1 mark at the NJCAA Finals as the No. 6 seed.

In doubles action, Kuhn and partner Erick Bermudez went 14-5 overall and 6-1 against junior colleges at the No. 1 position and were named Second Team All-Americans.

"I chose South Alabama because it has a great setup to improve my game," said Kuhn. "The team is great and I love the city of Mobile. It makes me feel like I am back home. I look forward to competing at a high level and to training again with my good friend Tuki Jacobs."
