MOBILE, Ala. – Kaeli Jones has signed a National Letter of Intent with the University of South Alabama women's golf program for the 2014-15 season, head coach TJ Jackson announced Thursday.

Jones attends the IMG Academy for golf in Bradenton, Fla., and is a member of the American Junior Golf Association (AJGA). In five tournaments this fall, she has earned two top-10 finishes. Since January, Jones has competed in 25 events and recorded six top-five finishes and has finished in the top 10 in eight additional tournaments.

"Kaeli has a lot of experience," Jackson said. "I have seen her play extensively, and she has great swing mechanics. She hits the ball really well, and has had some really good finishes over her junior golf career. I expect that she will be well-prepared for the Division I level, and will have the opportunity to come in and get into the lineup and help us immediately. She is home-schooled and is making good grades, so she should come in and continue her success in the classroom."

Jones turned in a season-low 1-over par 73 in the final round of the Golfweek East Coast Junior Invitational on Nov. 3 at Shingle Creek Golf Club in Orlando, Fla. She has recorded four consecutive rounds with scores in the 70s. Jones is a native of Sumterville, Fla., which is located in central Florida.
