BATON ROUGE, La. – University of South Alabama senior Haley Hopkins and freshman Alyssa Linn were named to LSU’s 2012 Tiger Invitational all-tournament team.
Hopkins went 5-for-12 with three runs on the weekend starting all four games. In the first game of the tournament against Alcorn State, Hopkins had two hits on three at-bats, two runs and a .667 batting average. The Gulf Shores, Ala., native leads the Jaguars with a .594 slugging percentage, eight RBI, two home runs and 19 total bases.
Linn, a true freshman from Kimberly, Ala., recorded five hits, two of which were doubles, three runs, and two RBI on the weekend. Linn also went 2-for-3 against Alcorn State She currently holds a team-leading eight-game hitting streak, and ranks No. 1 on the team in batting average (.433), hits (13), and doubles (3).
