USA MEN’S TENNIS CONTINUES FALL SEASON AT SOUTHERN MISS INVITATIONAL

MOBILE, Ala. – The University of South Alabama men’s tennis team will continue their fall campaign at the Southern Miss Invitational in Hattiesburg, Miss. this weekend.

The Jags were originally scheduled to play in the Southern Intercollegiate Championships in Athens, Ga. this weekend.

"Playing in the USM Invitational will allow the guys to play many matches this weekend, which is perfect for our top players who will be competing in the All-American Championships soon,” said USA head coach Nick Brochu.

The entire squad is slated to compete in the tournament.

“The fall tournaments are all about getting some match experience. We will be able to see where we stand and what we need to work on before we go to the bigger tournaments in October."

USA junior Dauw Kruger (Pretoria, South Africa) enters the tournament after advancing to the quarter finals of the Thomasville Invitational on Sept. 10-12. Kruger went 2-2 on the weekend.

Kruger teamed up with freshman Parker Allen (Hot Springs, Ark.) to post a 2-1 mark in doubles action.
