VIEL AND BOCAERT ELIMINATED FROM ITA CHAMPIONSHIPS

TULSA, Okla. – The University of South Alabama’s Romain Bocaert and Lucas Viel dropped a close match to San Diego’s Dean Jackson and Patrick Pohlmann at the D’Novo/ITA All-American Men’s Tennis Championships.

"We played well today, but we weren’t aggressive enough,” said USA head coach Nick Brochu. “In this tournament, playing well is sometimes not enough."

The Jaguar tandem fell 8-5 in the final round of play in the doubles qualifying bracket.

“We started the match well, but we could not take advantage of we had early,” said Brochu. “During the first two games San Diego served, we had four chances to break them and take an early lead. When playing good teams, you have to close the door on them when you have the chance or they will come back and take the match away."

The Jags will be back in action Oct. 22 at the ITA Regioinals in Tuscaloosa Ala.
