ATLANTA - University of South Alabama soccer fell to Georgia State, 3-0, Friday afternoon at Atlanta Silverbacks Park.
GSU (6-1-0) took a 1-0 lead into halftime following a goal by Apryl Goodwin in the 41st minute. The Panthers added two goals in the second half to round out the scoring.
"We had a couple chances early in the first half, if we would have finished, might have built our confidence and made it a better game," USA head coach Mike Varga said. "We just need to play harder and with more confidence, and it will turn around for us."
USA (2-5-0) returns to action Sunday afternoon when it battles 12th ranked South Carolina at Eugene E. Stone III Stadium in Columbia, S.C. Kickoff is scheduled for 1 p.m. (CT).
