Collins set a school record with 5,122 points and a first-place finish in the heptathlon at LSU's Bayou Bengal Invitational held Thursday and Friday in Baton Rouge, La. He finished first in the long jump (6.72m, 22-00.75) and pole vault (4.50m, 14-09.00) portions of the event and finished more than 400 points ahead of the runner-up.
