Ellis was key at both ends of the floor helping South Alabama pick up its first conference win of the season at Georgia State on Saturday, and in two games last week she averaged 10.5 points and 7.5 rebounds per contest, recorded eight blocks, shot 42.1 percent from the floor and hit five of her six free throw attempts. The sophomore center’s best performance of the week came in USA’s eight-point win at Georgia State on Saturday. In that outing, Ellis scored a career-high 18 points and pulled down 12 rebounds for her second double-double of the season, and she also had five blocks, all coming during the final 20 minutes of play. She currently leads the Sun Belt and ranks 25th in the NCAA in that category with 35 blocks and a 2.69 bps average.
