On the strength of three three-set matches, Jacobs advanced to the finals of the USTA/ITA Southern Regional Championships. He rallied from a first-set deficit twice -- in the round of 16 and quarterfinals -- against SEC opponents before defeating Sebastian Rey of Tulane in straight sets in the semis. He started the weekend with a 6-2, 6-7 (5-7), 7-5 win over Trey Carter of Samford, then lost just two games against Mitchell Martel of UAB to reach the round of 16. In the round of 16, he went down a set to Alabama's Mazen Osama but dropped only two games in the comeback, winning 3-6, 6-0, 6-2, then rallied 4-6, 7-5, 6-1 over Simon Freund of LSU in the quarterfinals. Jacobs' run ended with a 6-3, 7-5 loss to Auburn's Max Hinnisdaels. The loss to Hinnisdaels snapped a nine-match win streak dating back almost a month.
