Beard went 3-0 on the weekend at the 2014 Mardi Gras Invitational, striking out 29 batters in 12.2 innings, allowing no runs and only three hits. The junior opened the year with 10 strikeouts in five innings in an 8-0 victory over nationally-ranked UAB, following up a 13-strikeout effort to lead the Jaguars to an 8-0, five-inning win against Syracuse.  She extended her shutout streak, which dates back to the 2013 Sun Belt Conference Tournament, to 46 innings.
