Patterson posted a 15.76m effort on his sixth and final attempt in the men's shot put Friday at the Arkansas State Invitational to eclipse a school record that had stood since 1974.  The senior finished in sixth place overall in a field of 31 individuals, and he also led a trio of Jaguars in the top 10 in the weight throw after placing seventh with a toss of 17.39m.
