Leitner went 2-1 at the USTA/ITA Southern Regional Championships in Tuscaloosa, advancing to the round of 16 before bowing out. He advanced in the first round in straight sets over Louisiana-Lafayette's Damian Farinola 7-5, 6-1 and reached the second after dropping the first set to Mississippi State's Florian Lakat, eventually winning 6-7 (6), 7-6 (6), 6-3. The tournament's No. 4 seed, Leitner was finally eliminated 7-6 (5), 2-6 (ret.) by UAB's Chris Helliar. Leitner is tied for the team lead with five victories this fall.
