Cumbo played an important role in helping South Alabama open up Sun Belt Conference play with a perfect 2-0 mark with wins over Western Kentucky and Georgia State, the first 2-0 start in league play for the program since the 2009-10 season. In two outings, Cumbo led USA with 18.5 points and 7.0 rebounds per game while shooting 57.9 percent from the field; she also knocked down eight of her 11 three-point attempts and was also 7-of-8 at the charity stripe. Cumbo began the new posting 17 points and seven rebounds in the league opener versus Western Kentucky, just two-points shy of tying her career high, going 4-of-5 from the arc and 5-of-6 from the foul line versus the Toppers. Versus Georgia State, the junior guard/forward finished with a career-high 20 points and seven rebounds making 7-of-13 from the field and 4-of-6 from the three-point line. She currently leads the league behind the arc, connecting on 55.3 of her three-point attempts. She has raised her season average to 9.6 points per outing.
