Hernandez provided the assist on a South Alabama goal that drew the Jaguars within one of second-seeded Middle Tennessee in the second half of their quarterfinal match at the Sun Belt Conference Women’s Soccer Championship on Wednesday. The helper was Hernandez’s fifth of the year to go along with a team-leading six goals. On Thursday, the Pensacola, Fla., native was named Capital One first-team Academic All-District as announced by the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA); she has a 3.95 cumulative grade-point average (GPA) while majoring in chemical engineering.
