2015: Second Team All-Sun Belt Conference… Started all 23 games… Compiled the second-most minutes on the team (2,091)… Scored a goal – the game winner – vs. Tennessee-Martin (8/30) and added an assist… Scored opening goal in win over Louisiana-Monroe (10/4)… At defensive midfielder spot, helped team tie for first in the league in shutouts (10) and rank second in goals allowed (0.96) and goals against average (0.92).
2014: Second Team All-Sun Belt Conference… Earned 22 starts in 23 appearances… Scored lone goal in 7-2 win over Louisiana-Monroe (10/3)… Played defensive midfielder on defense that allowed just 22 goals all season with a school-record 12 shutouts… Defense held eight opponents to single-digit shots, including a combined seven in back-to-back victories over Southern Miss (9/5) and Southern (9/7), and 14 in league wins vs. Georgia Southern (10/17) and Georgia State (10/19)… Put four of her seven shots on goal… Played every minute of the team’s final 11 games, including three straight overtime games, and led team in minutes played (1,983).
2013: Made 21 starts and was the only freshman to appear in all 23 of USA’s matches…Scored three goals and provided one assist on the year…Scored a goal and delivered an assist versus Alabama State on Sept. 15…Delivered USA’s opening goal in a 2-1 win over Georgia State on Oct. 10…Gave USA insurance versus Louisiana-Monroe on Oct. 27, finding the low far post from the top of the box to give the Jaguars a 3-1 lead after 80 minutes in Mobile
High School: Played four years of soccer and also competed in track for Ocean Springs (Miss.) High School, helping the squad claim a 2013 state championship… The team captain was also selected to the 2013 Baptist Rehab All-Star team that year
Club: Played nine years for Gulf Coast United with ‘95 Girls Blue, helping the outfit claim three state championships and runner-up Premier League finishes from 2009-11
Personal: Full name is Catherine Monique Autmon… Born on April 8, 1995 in Pascagoula, Miss. … Daughter of Shannon Hartley… Has two younger siblings: Elijah, 9 and Ayden, 6… Enjoys reading, shopping, spending time with family, tanning and fishing… Chose South Alabama because of the soccer program, and the campus was a perfect fit… Favorites – movies and books: the Twilight series; athlete: Carli Lloyd; musical artist: Kevin Gates; food: wasabi and hot chips; class: math… General likes are sleeping, music and food, and dislikes liars and losing… Listens to music before a game… Pregame ritual is always wearing a headband… Best part of playing sports is creating life-long friends and winning championships… Would like to meet Robert Pattinson and Taylor Lautner… Thankful for her mother because without her Monique wouldn’t be where she is today or have accomplished her dream of being a Division I athlete… Five-year plan is to have a degree and working in her field, and in 10 years would like to have a steady job and starting a family… Visited England in the summer with teammate Nikki Shirtcliffe and considers it an experience of a lifetime.
