2018: Saw action in two games… Played 11 minutes vs. Chattanooga (8/24) and 13 minutes at ULM (10/12).

High School: Earned four varsity letters for Westminster Christian Academy… Named second team all-state after freshman and sophomore seasons, and named first team all-state as a junior… Led team in scoring as a freshman and junior… Led team to second-place finish in the playoffs… Scored both goals in a 2-1 win to decide area championship… Region III pool selection in 2016… ODP state/region camp team.

Club: Ten-year member of HFC Girls 99 Blue and won four state titles.

Personal: Full name is McKenzie Ivy Nowin… Born Nov. 15, 1999 in Huntsville, Ala. … Daughter of Kevin and Terri Nowin… Has an older brother… Chose South Alabama because it offered what she was looking for academically and wanted to play Division I soccer… Favorites – movie: “Get Smart”; book: “The Fault in our Stars”; pro teams: San Antonio Spurs and the U.S. Women’s National Team; athletes: Carli Loyd and Tobin Heath; musical artists: Dan + Shay and Charlie Puth; foods: ice cream and Panda Express; class: anatomy and physiology… Likes doing on hikes, hanging out with friends and anything having to do with pumpkins… Dislikes history and English classes, and people who make up their own rules… Pregame rituals include listening to Imagine Dragons, NF and Christian music while imagining making plays, and making sure shoelaces are extra tight… Best part of playing sports is the feeling you get when you win a game, knowing how much work you put in to get there… Would like to meet Carli Loyd and Matt LeBlanc… Thankful for God and all of the things He has blessed me with, including her family, friends and soccer… Five-year plan is to be in physical therapy or medical school, and ten-year plan is starting a family after completing her education… Has volunteered at Manna House and the Special Olympics.
