Kate Dirkse is entering her second season as Assistant Coach for Jaguar Soccer.
In her first season with the Jags, Dirkse played a vital role in leading the team to clinch the No. 2 seed in the 2024 Sun Belt Tournament. She also assisted in the development of All-Conference Selections Irene Campo and Kate Nicolson.
Before arriving at South, Dirkse was an athlete for four-and-a-half seasons at Lee University, where she played under Coach Hennessey.
Among many other accolades, Dirkse is a two-time All-American, two-time Academic All-American and the 2023 recipient of the Conference Defensive Player of the Year award.
Serving as team captain for three seasons, Dirkse showcased her ability to inspire and lead, laying the groundwork for a successful transition into coaching.
Now, as Assistant Coach, Dirkse leverages her extensive experience and expertise to mentor the next generation of athletes, shaping them into not only formidable competitors but also well-rounded individuals poised for success both on and off the field.
