Biography
2005-06: Competed in 24 games for the Lady Jags, while starting nine...named one of the two team captains...she averaged 6.1 points per game and 2.8 rebounds....set a new career-high with 18 points in a USA victory over Arkansas-Little Rock (2/4)...limited in action late in the season by a leg injury that forced her to miss four of the final five games...ranked third on the team in field goal percentage at 41.1 percent (46-of-112).
2004-2005: Started 16 of 27 games played for South Alabama as a sophomore, mainly at the point guard position...had seven double digit scoring games, including a then career-high 16 points vs. Middle Tennessee (1/22)...recorded five our more rebounds in 11 games, including setting a new career-high of nine boards on three occasions...played a career-high 41 minutes at UL-Lafayette.
2003-2004: Competed in all 29 games for USA, coming off the bench in all but one of the contest...had her first collegiate start in a Jag win at Oklahoma State on (1/2)... averaged 3.3 ppg and 1.7 rpg off the bench... scored a then career-high 10 points twice during the season (at Lamar on 12/13 and against New Mexico State on 1/17)... set a new career high with 11 points against Florida International on 2/23... played a season-high 22 minutes against Florida State.
High School: Finalist for 6A Player of the Year and nominated for 2003 McDonald's All-American honors after her senior season after leading Carver to a regional championships and state Final Four appearance... 2003 Montgomery Advertiser All-Metro 6A-5A Player of the Year and Super Five team member... also named first-team all-state in 2003, and second-team all-state as a junior... regional tournament MVP her senior season... National Honor Society member.
Personal: Valencia Jenae Boswell... nickname is "J"... has three older brothers all of whom played collegiate football... Orlando Parker played at Auburn (1991-93) and Troy State (1994), and one year for the N.Y. Jets... Antonio Parker played at Alabama State (1994-98)... Omar Parker played at UAB (1995-98) and one year for the Mobile Admirals (1999)... chose USA over Kansas and South Florida... majoring in Biology.
