Biography

2005-06: Saw action in 27 of USA's 29 games, while starting 26...was the Lady Jags' third leading scorer at 6.7 ppg...led the team at the free throw line knocking down 39 of her 44 attempts for 88.6 percent...also ranked third on the club from behind the arc at 35.7 percent  (25-of-70)...her best game of the season came in her first SBC game at Troy on Jan. 7 when she was 5-of-10 from the floor, including 4-of-6 from long range...she finished the night with a career-best 14 points.

2004-05: Red-shirted during the season due to NCAA transfer rules, but will have two years of eligibility remaining.

Pre-USA: Played two seasons for North Georgia College and State University in Dahlonega, Ga.,... was second on the team in scoring both seasons. 2003-04: as a sophomore averaged 12.7 ppg and 2.58 assists en route to garnering Third Team NAIA All-American honors... helped guide the Lady Saints to 30-6 record and an appearance in the NAIA Tournament Elite Eight and the Saints also captured both the Georgia-Alabama-Carolina Conference Tournament and regular season Co-Champion crowns... during the conference tourney, Ellis was an all-tournament selection... as a sophomore, set school records for three-pointers during a game (eight-for-eight vs. at Reinhardt,1/8)... established a new school mark for free throw percentage in a season with 83.1%... Ellis was also 44.5% from long range as a sophomore ranking sixth in Division I NAIA... posted a season-high 31 points against Reinhardt University on 1/8 and recorded her 1,000th career point against Reinhardt in the conference tourney on 3/5 ... named to the GACC all-academic team as well in 2004... set the school record for free throws in a game with a 12-for-12 performance against Auburn University-Montgomery in the championship game of he GACC Tournament (3/6). 2002-2003: Helped North Georgia finish with a 30-6 record and make an appearance in the NAIA Sweet Sixteen of the national tournament... also led the Saints to the GACC tournament Championship and was named tournament MVP... named to the conference’s all-freshman team after averaging 16.5 ppg and dishing out 3.3 apg... ranked fifth in the conference in scoring and as a freshman shot an amazing 44.4% (59-of-133) from three-point range to led the nation in NAIA and 81.4% from the charity stripe...scored a career-high 37 points versus Lambuth University on 11/15.

High School: Lettered four years at North Springs High School in Atlanta, Ga.,... Lettered 16 times in five sports while at NSHS... as a senior, averaged 23.0 ppg and 6.0 apg... was named the 2004 Atlanta Journal and Constitution Fulton County Player of the Year for her career scored 1,300 points.

Personal: Raena Michelle Ellis ... first name pronounced Ray-na... nicknamed “Big Play Rae” by a friend because she was known for making big plays happen in a game... enjoys dancing and listening to music in her free time... majoring in Exercise Science with a minor in Spanish.
