Aisha Stewart joined the Jag coaching staff on June 16, 2008, and will begin her fifth year with the program during the 2012-13 season.
Stewart came to South Alabama after spending two seasons at South Carolina State University in Orangeburg, S.C.
Prior to joining South Carolina State staff, Stewart spent one season as an assistant coach at Allen County Community College in Iola, Kan. Stewart helped guide the Lady Red Devils to a 19-12 overall record and 11-7 record in KJCCC play, the team’s best record in nearly a decade.
She is a 2004 graduate of Catawba (N.C.) College with a Bachelor of Arts degree in sociology, and received her master’s degree in rehabilitation counseling from South Carolina State University in 2008.
As a player, Stewart lettered at Catawba College, setting a school record in three-pointers made and leading her team to back-to-back conference titles. A native of Topeka, Kan., Stewart is a graduate of Highland Park High School.
