Former University of Mobile head coach Terri joined the South Alabama program prior to the start of the 2021 season. 

In August 2022, McCormick moved into a student support role where she serves as the Director of Student-Athlete Development. In the role, she focuses on leadership development, as well as assisting with facility projects, community engagement and acts as a liaison on staff for student-athlete wellness.

McCormick returned to the coaching field as a volunteer assistant coach during the 2021 campaign, after working in administration at the YMCA of Mobile.

In her first season with the South Alabama program, outfielders Mackenzie Brasher and Caroline Nichols earned first-team all-Sun Belt honors, while Victoria Ortiz led the club with 26 extra-base hits, including 12 home runs and 12 doubles, while establishing a new single-season slugging percentage (.750) mark for the program. Brasher was also named third-team all-South region by the National Fastpitch Coaches Association.

McCormick spent 10 seasons at the helm at the University of Mobile where she accumulated an overall record of 297-158 and guided the Lady Rams to four NAIA National Championship appearances and two conference titles, including the 2015 league title which included a trip to the NAIA Softball World Series. 

In 2008, McCormick guided UM to a runner-up finish at the national tournament, while also earning Gulf Coast Athletic Conference Coach of the Year honors that same season. She coached eight NAIA All-Americans, 23 first-team all-conference athletes and 24 Daktronics-NAIA Scholar-Athletes during her time at Mobile.

Prior to Mobile, McCormick served as the assistant coach at Spring Hill College during the programs first three years of existence. In 1998 the team earned its first NAIA Top-25 ranking and in 1999 the Badgers finished third at the NAIA National Championship.

McCormick lettered in softball at Mobile from 1993-97 where she became the program’s all-time hits leader (282) and the all-time runs leader (204). During her Ram career, she hit .392 with 143 career RBI and 70 stolen bases. She was a four-time all-conference selection, three-time All-American honoree and twice named the conference player of the year.
 
McCormick is a 1997 graduate of the University of Mobile and became the softball program’s first three-time NAIA All-American earning the honors first-team honors in 1997 and second-team accolades in 1994 and 1996.  After playing volleyball at Mississippi College for two years, she transferred to play softball at UM in 1993. In 1996, McCormick was named GCAC Player of the Year. She earned both her bachelor’s degree in sports medicine and her master’s degree in education from UM.

McCormick’s other experiences include executive director of the North Mobile YMCA, management with the United Parcel Service, and softball coach at Satsuma High School.

The Satsuma, Ala., native is married to Ken McCormick.
