AT SOUTH ALABAMA
FRESHMAN SEASON (2017)  
 
Saw time both in the circle, in the field and at the plate for South Alabama … Pitched 2.2 innings and made three appearances in the circle and had a 7.88 earned run average … Also played five games making three starts in the field … In her seven plate appearances, she had a walk and a RBI … Made two starts at the designated player position and one start at first base … Made collegiate debut in relief with 2.0 innings of work vs. Jackson State (2/19) … Had her first at-bat in a pinch-hit appearance on Feb. 24 vs. Texas A&M - Corpus Christi … Made first start in the designated player role against Purdue (3/5) where she drove in a run on a sacrifice fly … Recorded a walk in game two of a doubleheader at Georgia State (3/11) … Named to the Sun Belt Conference Commissioner’s List … Named a NFCA All-America Scholar Athlete.

Lettered two seasons at Hewitt Trussville High School in Trussville, Ala., and five seasons at Mortimer Jordan High School in Kimberly, Ala. … Transferred to HTHS prior to her junior year … Earned first-team Alabama Sports Writers Association Class 7A all-state honors as a senior where she batted .430 and had 37 hits, 13 of which were home runs …  Also posted a.930 slugging percentage … Tied two Alabama High School Athletic Association records in a 20-2 victory over Mountain Brook during her senior season …  In that game, Murphy hit three home runs, which tied a 2011 record by Central-Florence’s Candace Arreola, and tied another record with 11 RBI … Her third home run was a grand slam … Was also an all-state selection as a junior … Was named Birmingham News North/East Pitcher of the Year in 2013 and earned spots on the all-North/East and all-Metro teams that year while playing at Mortimer Jordan HS after recording a 17-12 record in the circle with a 1.53 ERA, 244 strikeouts and a pair of no-hitters … Member of state championship team at Mortimer during her seventh grade season … Played at the club level for the Birmingham Thunderbolts from 2012-16 where she helped the ‘Bolts to a pair of third-place finishes at the 18 Premier PGF in 2015 and 2016.
