Chris McDonald joined the South Alabama Athletic Training Staff in January of 2012. He served as the Certified Athletic Trainer for the baseball program from 2012-22 before assuming his current role working with the volleyball and men's and women's tennis teams.
McDonald came to USA from Saint Leo University where he spent three years working primarily with the baseball and volleyball programs. Prior to Saint Leo he was an Athletic Trainer in the Los Angeles Dodgers minor league system.
In 2007 McDonald graduated Summa Cum Laude from the University of North Florida with a degree in Athletic Training.
In 2011 he earned his master’s degree in Exercise Science and Health Promotion from California University of Pennsylvania. He also holds a BA in Philosophy from Wake Forest University.
McDonald is a member of the National Athletic Trainers’ Association and is a certified Performance Enhancement Specialist. He resides in Mobile.
