2010-11: Joined the team midseason… Served as team manager from 2007-10.

Junior College: Lettered one season at Broome Community College in Binghamton, N.Y. … Averaged 10 points per game as a starting guard… Hornets went 18-11 and reached conference championship game.

High School: Graduate of Seton Catholic Central High School… Lettered three years for the Saints… Averaged 15 points, five rebounds and four assists in his senior year to earn All-Metro honors… SCC won a Southern Tier Athletic Conference and Section 4 New York State championship in 2004-05 and won another Section 4 title in 2005-06… Scored 33 points—27 in the first half—in a game as a sophomore on varsity team… Also served as team captain… Played for Southern Tier Rage AAU team, based out of Endicott, N.Y., for three years.

Personal: Full name is Matthew Joseph Cline… Born July 17, 1988 in Binghamton, N.Y. … Son of Joe and Lorna Cline… Majoring in physical education… Hobbies include exercising, relaxing, reading and video games… Youngest of four brothers… Chose South Alabama because of a scholarship to be head manager… Accepted scholarship three days before classes started and never saw the campus… Favorites – movie: “The Shawshank Redemption”; book: “The Essential Wooden: A Lifetime of Lessons on Leaders and Leadership”; pro teams: New York Yankees, Green Bay Packers; athletes: Robinson Cano, Aaron Rodgers, John Kuhn… Best part of playing sports is building character and competing… Thankful for his family, friends and his relationship with God… Wants to coach Division I basketball after graduating… Has worked camps at Villanova, Boston College, Cornell and Binghamton… Will be going on a trip this summer with CrossOver International, a Christian organization, to Greece and Serbia to run basketball clinics, play against international teams and teach the gospels and other missionary work.
