Biography

Preseason Canada Tour: Appeared in all three games with two starts… Tied for third on the team in scoring (10.0 ppg) and shared team-high honors with three blocks… Averaged 4.7 rebounds and shot 12-for-22 (54.5%) from the floor… Poured in 17 points at Windsor (8/13) on 6 of 8 shooting… Made only 3-point attempt and converted 4 of 5 at the free throw line… Tallied 11 points in other start vs. Windsor (8/16) and rejected two shots… Grabbed five boards vs. Western (8/14).

2011-12: Appeared in 27 games with 19 starts… Averaged 6.1 points, 5.0 rebounds and 2.7 blocks per game… Fourth on the team in rebounding and led the Sun Belt Conference in blocks… Also ranked 16th in the nation in blocks per game… His 72 blocks were third-most in school history and more than he totaled in his first two seasons combined… Recorded five or more rejections on six occasions, including eight vs. Western Kentucky (2/18), one shy of school record… Had five blocks at LSU (11/23) to start 16-game blocks streak… Added seven blocks in his next outing vs. UAB (11/30), part of a run of six consecutive games with multiple rejections… Swatted 28 total shots during the stretch… Missed two games at end of January due to a toe injury and 16-game blocks streak ended in first game after return at Western Kentucky (2/4)… Four blocks vs. Denver (1/7) included the 100th of his career… Moved into second place on USA’s career blocks list with three vs. Middle Tennessee (1/21)… Started 2012 calendar year with run of four straight games with at least three blocks, including six at Louisiana at Lafayette (1/12)… Just missed out on double-double vs. ULL with 14 points and nine rebounds… Recorded two double-doubles on the season… Tallied 11 points and 10 rebounds in road win at LSU (in addition to five blocks) and had 10 blocks and 10 boards in eight-block game vs. WKU… The 10 rebounds set a new career high… Posted three double-digit scoring games in the first six outings of the season.

2009-10: One of four players to see action in all 32 games with 17 starts… Averaged 4.2 points and 3.5 rebounds (fourth on team)… Came into more important role as season went on, starting 14 of last 15 games of the season and averaging 6.2 points and 4.6 rebounds with 22 blocks after Jan. 9… Rejected a team-high 31 shots, including a career-high five vs. Florida Atlantic (3/6) in Sun Belt Tournament… Finished ninth in the Sun Belt in blocks per game (1.0)… Topped team in rejections in a game 11 times… Averaged 12.0 points and 2.3 blocks in three-game stretch in late February, shooting 57.1% from the field… Wrapped up regular season with season-high 13 points vs. Denver (2/25), helping Jaguars rally from huge second-half deficit.
