Jaguar Highlights: One of just two quarterbacks on the roster entering the fall with collegiate experience ... Completed 3-of-6 attempts for 29 yards for the Red team in the annual spring game ... Was 5-of-6 passing for 57 yards in the first scrimmage of the spring, going 4-of-8 for 99 yards a week later in the program’s second full scrimmage ... The most improved quarterback as voted on by the coaches after the end of spring practice.
As A Redshirt Freshman (2010): Was USA’s starter in its first two games of the season, going on to make seven appearances ... Recorded a team-best 174.64 pass efficiency rating after completing 17-of-28 attempts for 325 yards and a pair of touchdowns ... Carried 10 times for 68 yards and a score, ranking fourth on the squad with 393 yards of total offense ... Posted a season-high 145 yards of total offense in season-opening victory over Pikeville (Ky.), going 7-of-8 through the air for 112 yards and a touchdown while adding 33 yards on two rushes ... Threw for a career-best 139 yards and a score in victory over Kentucky Wesleyan ... Played just one series at UC Davis, but completed both passes for 17 yards and rushed twice for another 10 to lead the Jaguars to a field goal on the final play of the third quarter in a 24-21 come-from-behind win ... Only rushing touchdown of the year came on first series of third quarter against Missouri S&T.
As A Freshman (2009): Started each of the Jags’ first six games before suffering a season-ending injury in win over Milford (N.Y.) Academy ... Led the team with 632 yards of total offense, an average of 105.3 per contest ... Completed 29-of-51 passes for 538 yards and six scores for a pass efficiency rating of 176.45 ... Added 94 yards a pair of touchdowns rushing ... Was 7-of-13 passing for 126 yards — including posting the first points in school history with a 60-yard touchdown pass to Courtney Smith in the opening quarter — and rushed six times for 23 yards and a score in win over Hargrave (Va.) Military Academy in the school’s first-ever game ... Completed 6-of-7 attempts for 122 yards and two touchdowns in Army Prep victory ... Only two completions in win over Fork Union (Va.) Military Academy were to Smith for touchdowns of 64 and 60 yards on the Jaguars’ first two offensive plays of the game ... Was 6-of-9 passing for 89 yards and a score in Louisburg (N.C.) J.C. win ... Carried three times for 59 yards — including a season-long gain of 40 yards — to finish with 92 yards of total offense before departing contest against Milford.
High School Highlights: Earned three letters at Vanier College in Montreal, where he guided the Cheetahs to the Bol D’Or title in each of his first two years before they fell in the semifinals in the fall of his senior season ... Was selected the league’s most valuable player and to its all-star team his junior year, when he was also voted MVP of the Bol D’Or championship game ... Named team MVP in 2007 as well after throwing for a school-record 25 touchdowns in just eight games (the previous mark was 18 in 10 contests) while leading the league with more than 1,500 yards passing.
