After helping the University of South Alabama football program for as a student, Devin McKenney was promoted to director of football video in the spring of 2017.
He worked as an assistant on the football video staff as a freshman during from 2011-13, including shooting both home games and numerous practices as he was responsible for uploading film for the Jaguar coaching staff as well. In July 2014, McKenney was appointed the creative media coordinator for South football, and in that role he spearheaded the rebranding of the department into “Jaguar Films,” helped the Jags establish a multi-platform social media presence that included use of Facebook, Instagram, Twitter and Flickr accounts, and developed original storyboards and content for short films. He also coordinated shooting schedules for multiple student assistants.
As director of football video, McKenney‘s responsibilities with the program include coordinating the filming and breakdown of practices and games for coaches’ analysis, directing the production of motivational, promotional, and recruiting highlights, and overseeing the exchange of video with opponents.
A member of the Collegiate Sports Video Association, McKenney received his bachelor’s degree in communication with a digital cinema and television concentration from South Alabama in 2016.
