Biography

Jaguar Highlights: Will compete for the starting quarterback job in fall camp ... Was 13-of-22 passing for 184 yards to lead the Red team in USA’s spring game, providing the only touchdown for his squad with a 73-yard pass to Kelly Vail with less than three minutes to go in the opening half ... Was chosen the program’s most improved quarterback at the end of spring drills, and was also one of two individuals to earn a High Academic Award.

As A Junior (2009): Missed most of summer workouts after contracting a virus prior to the start of preseason practice, but recovered to make six appearances in the fall ... Completed 32-of-44 attempts for 486 yards and three scores, leading the team with both a 72.7 completion percentage and a 183.46 pass efficiency rating ... Gained 76 yards on 20 carries to finish third on the squad with 562 yards of total offense ... Led the team in passing yards in each of the last three contests and completions in the Jaguars’ final four outings ... Made his first career start in season-ending win over Huntingdon (Ala.) College, throwing for 150 yards and a touchdown while going 13-of-20 — the completion, attempt and yards passing totals were the most recorded by a USA quarterback all season ... Also rushed for 49 yards on eight attempts in that game for a Jag season-best 199 yards of total offense ... Had 110 yards of total offense in Homecoming win over Milford (N.Y.) Academy, going 2-of-3 passing for 90 yards — which included a 73-yard scoring completion to Courtney Smith in the opening quarter, the Jaguars’ longest play from scrimmage all year — and a carry for a gain 20 yards ... Completed all nine pass attempts for a total of 130 yards and a touchdown in Fork Union (Va.) Military Academy victory ... Was 6-of-7 passing for 70 yards in win over Louisburg (N.C.) J.C. ... Had a pair of completions for 46 yards and rushed twice for seven more in victory over Army Prep.

Oregon State Highlights (2006-08): Although he did not see action for the Beavers his last season, he took snaps with both the first- and second-team offensive units during spring practice prior to transferring to USA over the summer ... In his three years at OSU, the Beavers were 28-12 (70%) overall while going 19-8 (70.4%) in Pac 10 Conference action ... Helped OSU end the 2008 season 9-4, 7-2 in the Pac 10, after it defeated Pittsburgh 3-0 in Sun Bowl as well as then top-ranked Southern California 27-21 in the opening month of the season ... OSU also went 9-4 — which included posting a 6-3 league record — in 2007, as it closed out the campaign with four straight wins after beating Maryland 21-14 in the Emerald Bowl ... In his first season with the program, which he sat out as a redshirt, the Beavers finished 10-4 overall and 6-3 in the Pac 10 — OSU earned a 39-38 victory over Missouri in the Sun Bowl to end that year.

High School Highlights: A two-year letterwinner in both football and baseball at Sunset High ... Earned all-league honors and served as a team captain as a senior ... Picked up two letters in basketball and one in track for the Apollos.
