Biography

Career Notes:  Ranked second in the Sun Belt Conference in stolen bases as a junior with 27 • Named third-team All-American by NJCAA after sophomore season at Alabama Southern CC • Also named first-team all-state/region and first-team all-conference • Ranked eighth in nation and led state of Alabama with .476 batting average in 2009.

2010 (Junior):  Hit .346 with 12 doubles and 34 RBI in 58 games, 57 of which were starts • Ranked second in the Sun Belt Conference in stolen bases with 27 • Hit safely in 41 of 58 games • Led the team with 23 multi-hit games • Also led USA in batting average (.346) and stolen bases (14) in conference games • Recorded a career-high four hits against Florida Atlantic (5/9) • Stole a career-high three bases at UALR (3/13) • Made just two errors in 149 chances.

Junior College (Alabama Southern CC):  Played two seasons for the Eagles • Was coached by current Jaguar assistant coach Scot Sealy in 2008 and former USA pitcher Daniel head in 2009 • Hit .476 (59-for-124) with 19 doubles, six triples and three home runs in 35 games as a sophomore in 2009 • Also scored 38 runs and collected 30 RBI • Went 24-for-30 stealing bases and drew 13 walks against just seven strikeouts • Reached base at a .528 clip and slugged .798 • Went 5-for-5 with four runs and three stolen bases in season opener against Marion Military Institute • Played in 52 games and hit .409 with 13 doubles, three home runs and 29 RBI as a freshman • Stole 14 bases in 14 attempts in 2008 • Finished junior college career with .435 batting average, 80 runs scored, 59 RBI and 38 stolen bases in 44 attempts over 87 games.

High School:  Pitched and played outfield for coach Danny Powell at Leroy High School • Hit .465 with six home runs, 40 RBI and 28 stolen bases as a senior • Also went 9-0 as a pitcher • Was named all-state, all-county, state MVP and Class 2A Player of the Year.

Personal:  Full name is Stephen Taylor White • Born March 24, 1989, in Birmingham, Ala. • Only child of Steve and Lisa White • Exercise Science major.
