High School: Lettered one year in basketball and three years in baseball at Pace High School... named first-team all-state as a senior... earned all-area honors twice... was named Pensacola News Journal Player of the Week three times and Santa Rosa County Player of the Week on six occasions... holds the school record for most strikeouts in one season (132 as a senior)... went 10-1 with a 1.23 ERA that year.

 

Personal: Full name is Jonathon Glenn Desposito... born January 8, 1987 in Pace, Fla.,... is the oldest of two children...Has a younger brother Kristopher... lists the Atlanta Braves as his favorite team and Greg Maddux as his favorite player.
