Biography

2016 (Junior):  Named to 2016 SBC All-Tournament Team … Ranked third in the league in opposing batting average (.212), fourth in ERA (2.45), tied for fifth in wins (7), sixth in runs allowed (29), eighth in innings pitched (88.1), tied for eighth in earned runs allowed (24) and tied for ninth in fewest walks issued (20) … Went 7-1 with a 2.45 ERA in 16 appearances with 11 starts … Struck out 60 batters against 20 walks in 88 1/3 innings pitched … Tossed a team-best five complete games, which ranked eighth nationally … Posted a 2.70 ERA in four relief appearances in SBC contests and also combined for one shutout in 20 innings pitched … Struck out a career-high eight batters in a complete-game win over Alabama State (6/4) in the NCAA Tallahassee (Fla.) Regional … Allowed only one run on four hits with a then career-high seven strikeouts in his first complete game during a win over Southeastern Louisiana (4/12) … Followed that performance with an eight-inning effort at Alabama (4/20) in which he struck out seven and allowed just two runs … Tossed his second complete game of the season in his following start at Auburn (4/26) and also struck out seven in that performance … Followed that game with another complete game which came one week later against Jacksonville State (5/3) … Pitched a complete-game shutout over Texas-Arlington (5/27) in the SBC Tournament, allowing just three hits with a pair of strikeouts and three walks in nine innings ... Allowed just six earned runs over his final 40 2/3 innings of the season which encompassed six appearances and five starts.

Junior College:  Named the 2015 Spalding Baseball/National Junior College Athletic Association Division II Pitcher of the Year ... Earned first-team NJCAA All-America honors after finishing 12-0 with a 2.37 ERA and 63 strikeouts against 12 walks in 79 2/3 innings ... Also an all-region and Mississippi Association of Community and Junior Colleges first-team all-state selection ... His 12 wins ranked second in NJCAA Division II ... Named second-team all-state by the MACJC as a freshman … Led the team in wins (9), innings pitched (81.1) and strikeouts (64) in 2014 … Helped HCC to a national runner-up finish his freshman year … Closed his career tied with former major leaguer Patt Rapp for the most wins (21) in the program’s history.

High School:  Lettered in football, baseball and track four years, and one year in basketball at Centreville Academy in Centreville, Miss., where he helped the Tigers capture two baseball state championships in 2010-11 ... Also helped lead Centreville Academy to three straight track state titles from 2011-13.
