Coach Kittrell on Miles Ethridge ? “Miles Ethridge is an important part of our pitching staff. We need him to be more consistently down in the strike zone and to be pitching ahead in the count. If he does that, he’s going to have a very good year.”

Fall 2008:  Made six appearances and worked 18.1 innings ¨ Led team with 19 strikeouts and posted a 6.87 ERA ¨ Went 3.0 innings and allowed one run on two hits with four strikeouts in first intrasquad game (9/19) ¨ Allowed two earned runs and recorded four strikeouts in 3.0 innings in fourth intrasquad (9/26) ¨ Came on in relief in game two of Red and Blue World Series (10/5) and worked 1.2 scoreless innings ¨ Started game three (10/8) and went 3.0 innings ¨ Allowed three runs on two hits with four strikeouts ¨ Started game six (10/12) and went 4.2 innings ¨ Allowed six runs and recorded four strikeouts, but did not factor in the decision after his Blue team rallied to win 8-7 in 10 innings ¨ Started vs. Northwest Florida State (10/19) and picked up win with 3.0 innings and two runs allowed ¨ Recorded four or more strikeouts in four of six outings.

2008 (Junior):  Appeared in 25 games, all in relief ¨ Was the Jags' most-utilized pitcher out of the bullpen ¨ Finished the season with an ERA of 6.57 and a record of 2-1 in 50.2 innings of work ¨ Posted a 1-0 record and a 2.25 ERA in first eight appearances of the season ¨ Picked up first win vs. Manhattan (3/2) with 5.1 innings of shutout relief ¨ Struck out a career-high five batters, did not issue a walk and allowed just three hits in that game ¨ Also struck out five in 3.2 innings of relief vs. Notre Dame (3/8) ¨ Picked up second win with 3.1 innings of relief in 8-7 win vs. Arkansas State (5/30) ¨ Worked 2.0 shutout innings vs. Auburn (4/16) to help the Jags secure a 7-6 win ¨ Had a streak of four straight outings when he went more than 2.0 innings and allowed no more than one earned run (2/24-3/8) ¨ Pitched a total of 14.2 innings, allowed two earned runs and recorded 15 strikeouts during streak.

Junior College (North Florida CC):  Pitched for North Florida Community College in Madison, Fla. ¨ Worked 92.2 innings over 20 appearances ¨ Compiled a 5.24 ERA and recorded 60 strikeouts for the Sentinels. 

Junior College (Young Harris College):  Spent freshman season at Young Harris College in Young Harris, Ga.

High School:  Lettered three years at Norcross High School in Norcross, Ga. ¨ Was a pitcher and shortstop for the Blue Devils ¨ Named Gwinnett County Player of the Week on two occasions.

Personal:  Born Aug. 23, 1986 ¨ Second of two sons to Bob and Becky Ethridge ¨ Full name is Robert Miles Etheridge ¨ Has one older brother, Zac ¨ Says his father is the person he admires the most and is the person has been the most influential in his life ¨ Nolan Ryan is his hero ¨ Enjoys video games and spending time with friends.
