Biography

2010 (Junior):  Recorded one save in 21 appearances out of the bullpen • Struck out 16 batters in 25.2 innings pitched without allowing a home run • Earned first career save against Louisiana-Monroe (4/16) in 2 1/3 innings • Allowed just one run on three hits with one strikeout in that appearance • Did not allow a run in two appearances against Western Kentucky (4/9-10), and allowed just one hit in 2 2/3 innings in the series • Allowed just one run in seven appearances from April 27–May 16 • Pitched three shutout innings in relief and recorded a career-best five strikeouts against Florida Atlantic in the SBC Tournament (5/27).

Junior College (Bevill State CC):  Played at Bevill State-Fayette in 2009 • Pitched 58.1 innings over 12 appearances, 10 of which were starts • Posted a 6-3 record with a 4.63 ERA • Pitched two complete games, including a nine-inning, five-hitter against Bevill State-Sumiton (2/27) • Worked six innings of two-hit ball against Jefferson State (3/21) • Also hit .279 with seven RBI in 36 games played, most of which were at second base.
 
Junior College (Okaloosa-Walton CC):  Played 2008 season at Okaloosa-Walton Community College, which is now known as Northwest Florida State • Pitched 29.1 innings over 16 appearances • Went 2-0 with a 7.98 ERA and 19 strikeouts.

High School:  Played four years of baseball for coach Rickey Davidson at Washington County High School in Chatom, Ala. • Helped Bulldogs to 2007 state championship game • Also played three years of football.

Personal:  Wesley Kyle Dees • Born Jan. 20, 1989, in Mobile, Ala. • Last of three children to William and Wanda Dees • Has an older brother, Nick, and an older sister, Shanna • Favorite book is “Of Mice and Men” • Lists the Atlanta Braves and New Orleans Saints as his favorite pro sports teams • Favorite athletes are Chipper Jones and Brett Favre • Lists Alan Jackson among his favorite musical artists • Majoring in exercise science.
