Mike Wood joined the coaching staff in August, 2025, bringing with him a proven record of success in player development, recruiting, and offensive performance.

Before arriving, Wood spent five seasons at Northwest Florida State College, where he helped lead the program to a JUCO World Series appearance and a national runner-up finish in 2024.

Most recently, he served as the Hitting Coach and Recruiting Coordinator at USC Upstate during the 2025 season. Under his guidance, the offense set a new program record for hits and ranked among the top 20 nationally in eight offensive categories: batting average, on-base percentage, slugging percentage, hits, home runs, runs scored, runs batted in, and extra-base hits. His leadership helped power the team to the 2025 Big South Conference Championship and an NCAA Regional appearance at Clemson following a 19–5 conference campaign.
