Biography

2007: Appeared in seven games, all in relief... logged 8.1 innings, fanning 11 batters... walked eight and gave up eight hits... six of his seven runs were earned, giving him a 6.48 ERA... strongest appearance came Feb. 24 against Jacksonville in the Coca-Cola Classic... went 3.1 innings without allowing a run (only two hit)... struck out six that afternoon... surrendered one run on two hits in 2.1 innings against Ole Miss on March 20... struck out four Rebels.

 

Junior College: Lettered one season for Jefferson State in Birmingham, Ala.,... posted a 6-3 record for the Pioneers... pitched 63 innings, registering an impressive ERA of 3.14.

High School: Earned letters his junior and senior seasons in football and in baseball at Stanhope Elmore... made a trip to the state finals in 2002, but the Mustangs fell short against Cullman... pPosted an ERA of 2.80 while going 9-3.

Personal: Full name is Brett Stephen Nickerson... born January 25, 1986 in Montgomery, Ala.,... is the youngest of three three boys (brothers Scott and Jon-Michael).
