Career Notes:  Earned all-region honors as an outfielder in 2009 • Named second team all-MACJC in 2008.

2010 (Junior):  Competed in 57 games with 55 starts • Started 51 games at catcher for the Jaguars • Batted .300 with 42 runs scored,14 doubles, one triple, seven home runs and 42 RBI • Recorded 19 multiple-hit games and 11 multi-RBI games • Hit safely in 42 of 57 games • Recorded a .466 slugging percentage and .369 on-base percentage • Went 2-for-3 with a home run and five RBI in his Jaguar debut against Jackson State (2/19) •Hit two home runs at UALR (3/14) • Also recorded career highs in hits (4), runs scored (4) and total bases (10) at UALR (3/14) • Hit safely in 23 of 30 SBC games • Recorded 10 multiple-hit and five multi-RBI games in conference play • Went 3-for-4 with a home run, two RBI and two runs scored against Nicholls State (4/13) • Went 2-for-4 with a home run, three RBI and a run scored against Florida Atlantic (5/8) • Ended the season on a five-game hitting streak.

Junior College (Meridian CC):  Played two seasons for coach Chris Rose at Meridian Community College • Hit .342 with 10 home runs and 48 RBI in freshman season • Helped MCC to a MACJC State Championship with four home runs in state tournament • Was named second team all-MACJC in 2008 • Hit .396 with 15 homers, 17 doubles and 58 RBI as a sophomore • Also drew 30 walks and reached base at a .514 clip • Went 4-for-4 with a double, home run and five RBI against Wallace CC (4/22) • Had at least three hits in a game nine times • Was successful on all eight stolen bases attempted • Helped MCC to Region 23 Championship and was named all-region as an outfielder.

2007 (Mississippi State):  Sat out season as a non-medical redshirt.

High School:  Played for coach Joe Hartsfield at George County High School in Lucedale, Miss. • As a junior, hit .404 with 11 home runs and 17 doubles • In senior season, hit five home runs and 20 doubles on his way to all-state honors • Set school record for home runs and was inducted into GCHS Hall of Fame.

Personal:  Born Oct. 1, 1987 in Mobile, Ala. • Last of five children to Steven and Becky Tanner • Administrative Science major.
