MOBILE, Ala. -- The University of South Alabama men’s tennis team is set to play the Georgia Southern Eagles Sunday at 10 a.m. in their last home match of the season.
The Jaguars are 6-7 so far this season and 1-1 in the Sun Belt. South Alabama boasts the 47th-ranked singles player in the nation in Sergio Ramirez. Ramirez is undefeated at the No. 1 and No. 2 positions and holds on to an eight match win streak. Other players of note for the Jags are newcomer Romain Bocaert and senior Marek Sramek.
Ramirez and his doubles partner Leo Dominguez, ranked No. 73 in the country, lead South Alabama’s doubles front with a six match win streak and an undefeated reign at the No. 1 and No. 2 positions.
Georgia Southern is 5-2 overall and 1-0 in conference play. The Eagles opened Southern Conference action on March 6 defeating Appalachian State 5-2.
The match is scheduled to begin at 10 a.m. on Sunday at the Bruce David Lubel Memorial Tennis Courts.
