MOBILE, Ala. ? The University of South Alabama Athletic Ticket Office announced Monday that season tickets are now available for the 2009 baseball and softball seasons.
Renewal notices have been sent for Jag baseball, with the deadline to return those Jan. 9, 2009. USA will play a 27-game schedule at Eddie Stanky Field, with the cost for season tickets $150 for box seats, $100 for chair back seats and $80 for bench back seats.
In addition to including tickets for the annual Coca-Cola Classic ? the field this season includes NCAA Regional qualifier Mississippi, Liberty and Mercer ? the Jaguars will also play host to Alabama, Auburn and Mississippi State out of the Southeastern Conference as well as regional rival Southern Mississippi and Memphis.
The Sun Belt Conference home schedule includes three games against New Orleans, which earned an at-large bid to the NCAA Tournament, as well as rivals Middle Tennessee the last weekend of April and Troy to close out the regular season.
General admission season tickets for softball are also available for only $50. USA will play 25 contests at home, including hosting the South Alabama Invitational to begin the year. The field for the event will be highlighted by Women’s College World Series participant Alabama as well as Memphis, Jacksonville State ? also an NCAA Regional qualifier ? and Northwestern State.
USA will also play host to NCAA Tournament participant Mississippi Valley State for two games prior to the start of conference play. Defending Sun Belt champion Louisiana-Lafayette, which also advanced to the WCWS, will visit for a three-game league series, as well as SBC rival Troy the final weekend of the regular season.
