MOBILE, Ala. - The University of South Alabama men's tennis rebounded after a heartbreaking loss to Louisiana-Lafayette in the semifinals of the 2006 Aeropostale Sun Belt Conference Championship with a 4-0 victory over Denver for third place. The 48th-ranked Jaguars improve to 20-8 on the year, while Denver falls to 13-9.

USA opened the match with two wins at doubles to take the team point. USA's duo of Filip Kricka and Robert Hodel won at No. 3 to begin the match, 8-2. The Pioneers wouldn't go quietly though as they responded for a win at No. 2 as Njec Smole and Steve Flaks knocked off Jack Baker and R.J. Nagel, 8-6. The point came down to the No. 1 match as USA's Dias Doskarayev and Monte Tucker pulled out a 9-7 decision over Adam Holmstrom and Niklas Persson.

In singles, USA got off to a hot start and didn't look back as Mark Gellard won put the Jaguars up 2-0 with a win at No. 6, 6-2, 6-1. Next, Tucker defeated Persson at No. 3, 7-6, 6-0 for a 3-0 lead. The Jaguars finished the match as Hodel won a straight-set victory at No. 5, 6-2, 7-5.
