UNIVERSITY ANNOUNCES RESIGNATION OF HEAD MEN'S TENNIS COACH SCOTT NOVAK

MOBILE, Ala. ? University of South Alabama Director of Athletics Joe Gottfried announced the resignation of head men’s tennis coach Scott Novak on Monday.  The University has submitted a preliminary report to the NCAA and the Sun Belt Conference identifying apparent violations of NCAA rules within the men’s tennis program.

 

The investigation of the violations, which include the coach providing extra benefits to players, will continue and the University will self-report the completed findings to the NCAA and the Sun Belt Conference.  Novak has been employed at the University since 1992.  Under federal student privacy laws, the University cannot further discuss the specifics of the incidents or the parties involved.
