Biography

JUNIOR SEASON (2009-10): Returned from injury and was one of two Jaguar women to start all 31 games…Averaged 8.0 points per game, while also pulling down 4.4 boards…Led the team in assists with 102 – 3.3 per game…Her assists average ranked 10th in the Sun Belt…Also ranked 26th nationally with a 1.91 assist/turnover ratio…Had four or more assists in 14 games…Was one of the top free throw shooters in the league, connecting on 80.0 percent of her attempts at the stripe – which was third-best in the SBC…Her free throw percentage also ranks third highest in a single-season by a Jag…Finished in double figures on 10 occasions – leading USA in scoring twice and rebounding six times…Recorded the first double-double of her career at Troy (Jan. 30) with 14 points and a career-high 12 rebounds…Was 5-for-7 from the field versus the Trojans…Tied her career mark in scoring on two occasions – vs. Florida Atlantic (Jan. 27) and at New Orleans (Feb. 3)…Hit a career-best three treys versus the Privateers…Dished out a career-high nine assists at Denver (Jan. 23)…Led USA in steals with 40…Named to the Sun Belt Conference Academic Honor Roll…Was the women’s basketball representative for the Sun Belt Conference Sporting Behavior award.

SOPHOMORE SEASON (2008-09): Started the first 16 games of the season at the point guard position before suffering a knee injury in practice prior to the Troy game (Jan. 14)…Expected to make full recovery…Prior to her injury, she ranked second in the Sun Belt in assists/turnover ratio (1.88) and fifth in assists per game, averaging 4.00…Her assist/turnover ratio ranked 27th nationally at the time of her injury…In her 16 games of action, she averaged 5.3 points per game and 3.7 rebounds per game…Also had 24 steals…Had a then career-high seven assists versus Ohio (Dec. 29) and eight rebounds at Florida International (Dec. 20).

FRESHMAN SEASON (2007-08): Saw action in all 31 games as a true freshman…Averaged 13.8 minutes a game off the bench for the Jags, averaging 3.2 ppg, 1.8 rpg and 1.5 apg…Recorded five assist in both of her first two collegiate games (vs. Spring Hill (Nov. 9) and vs. Sam Houston State (Nov. 11)…Was instrumental in helping South Alabama pick up a road victory at Ohio (Nov. 13)…Against the Lady Bobcats, she was 6-of-8 from the field for 15 points.

AT PARKVIEW HIGH SCHOOL: Lettered four seasons in basketball at Parkview High School in Little Rock, Ark…Member of three state championship teams at PHS during her prep career…Led the Patriots to back-to-back Class 5A State Championships as a freshman and as a sophomore…As a senior, guided Parkview to the Class 6A State Championship…As a freshman, she was named a Student Sports Freshman All-American and from her freshman through junior seasons, was selected a Street & Smith Honorable Mention All-American…Three-time all-state selection (freshman, sophomore and senior)…The summer prior to her senior season, Banks averaged 21 ppg and 6.5 apg for her AAU club team the Arkansas Sirens…Entered her senior season ranked as the 66th best point guard by Collegiate Girl’s Basketball Report…Chose USA over UALR, Oral Roberts and Chattanooga…Biggest prep career memory was winning back-to-back state championships freshman and sophomore season…Also lettered in volleyball at Parkview.
