LEXINGTON, Ky. | Lilian Buehle fired a one-over-par 217 to finish in a tie for 19th Tuesday at the Bettie Lou Evans Invitational hosted by Kentucky and held at the University Club of Kentucky on the par 72, 6,242-yard Big Blue course.

"This was our first event of the season, and while it wasn't the performance we had hoped for, it also isn't an accurate reflection of this team's potential. We know we have work to do, and we need to continue getting better if we want to compete at a high level. South Alabama will continue its fall campaign in two weeks when it competes at the 29th Annual Mercedes-Benz Collegiate Championship hosted by Tennessee at the Cherokee Country Club in Knoxville, Tenn. (Oct. 4-6).

NOTES
•    Gilbert recorded her first career birdie on her second hole of the first round on the 507-yard, par-5
•    The true freshman also posted a three-under par 69 over her first 18 holes as she recorded five birdies
•    Aldana and Gilbert each led South Alabama with eight birdies
•    Gilbert also recorded her first career eagle on Tuesday in the final round as she recorded a three on the par-5, 487-yard seventh
•    The eagle by Gilbert was one of seven from the field over the three rounds of the tournament
•    The Top-20 finish for Buehle was the third of her Jaguar career
•    South Alabama ranked second as a team in the field in pars with 187, just two shy of Penn State (189)
•    Palmeros led all players individually in the category with 45, while Buehle was right behind her with 43
