Aldana and Jags Fire School Records in Final Round; Jags Finish Third at Sixth Annual Evie Odom Invitational

NORFOLK, Va. | Mercedes Aldana fired a program record 65 in the final round and South Alabama set a new 54-hole program mark with a three-round 839 Saturday to finish third at the Sixth Annual Evie Odom Invitational hosted by Old Dominion and held at the Princess Anne Country Club.

The 65 by Aldana, who also carded a then career-best 67 in the opening round, eclipsed Cassidy Lambert's previous mark (66) which was set at the 2025 Pinetree Intercollegiate in the second round of the event. The Buenos Aires, Argentina, native closed strong as she was four-under over her final nine holes. For the tournament, Aldana finished tied for ninth with a three-round, two-under par 208, which also matched a career best for the junior.

Rebekka Stutley (70-67-70—207 (-3) and Lilian Buehle (67-69-71—207 (-3) tied for fifth to lead the club over the two-day event.

Stutley's 54-hole total also set a new career-best for the junior, eclipsing her previous mark by nine strokes – 216, at Golf Iconic Classic (10/13-15/25).  Buehle also set a new 54-hole low, besting her previous mark of 211, set last season at the Sun Belt Conference Championship (4/20-22/26).

On Saturday, South Alabama fired a two-over par 282, which matched South Carolina for the best round by any of the 14 teams in the field, and also set a new program record for a third-round score, surpassing the previous mark of 283 set at the Lady Red Wolves Classic (10/12/21).

North Florida captured the team title with an 8-under par 832, five strokes ahead of runner up South Carolina with a 3-under par 837. The individual co-medalists of the tournament were UNF's Kaitlyn Schroeder and Old Dominion's Puneet Bajwa, who both carded 7-under par 203s.

Head Coach Marcelo Huarte
- On the team's play:
"I'm incredibly proud of this team. We intentionally put them in difficult situations at home to prepare them for the challenges of tournament play, and they've responded by buying in, embracing the challenge, and trusting the process.

"We know the work isn't done, and that's what makes this group special. We're going to run our race, continue leaning into the hard things, and trust the work we put in.:
