KANSAS CITY, Mo. – The Intercollegiate Women's Soccer Organization for Coaches (IWSOC), in partnership with United Soccer Coaches, announced the NCAA Division I Women's Hermann Trophy Watch List on Wednesday. South Alabama soccer's Sierra Giorgio was named one of the 62 honorees.

The Hermann Trophy is presented annually by the Missouri Athletic Club. It is the nation's highest individual honor, recognizing the National Player of the Year as determined by a vote of Division I head coaches who are members of United Soccer Coaches. The award is named in honor of the late Robert Hermann, the founder of the National Professional Soccer League — the first professional soccer league in the United States, which later became the North American Soccer League.

The sixth-year and co-captain is one of three Sun Belt players named to the list, and is the first Jaguar to be named in three years. Giorgio began the 2026 campaign earning Sun Belt Preseason Goalkeeper of the Year and Preseason All-Conference honors after setting the program record in single-season save percentage (.866) in 2025.

South Alabama soccer is the only program in the nation to boast players on the MAC Hermann Trophy Watch List and each Positional Players to Watch list.

Fifteen players will be named 2026 Hermann Trophy semifinalists on Dec. 4, at the conclusion of NCAA Division I All-American voting. From that list, head coaches will cast votes and three players will be named finalists.

The 2026 winners are revealed on Jan. 8, 2027, in a ceremony at the historic Missouri Athletic Club in downtown St. Louis, Mo.
