MOBILE, Ala. – South Alabama's
Jordan Morrison was named the recipient of the Sun Belt Conference Elite Award following the conclusion of the 2026 Sun Belt Outdoor Track & Field Championships at the Jaguar Track & Field Complex.
The Sun Belt Conference Elite Award recognizes the true essence of the student-athlete by honoring the individual who has reached the pinnacle of competition at the conference championship level while also achieving the highest academic standard among their peers. The award is presented to the student-athlete competing on the final day of each Sun Belt Conference championship with the highest cumulative grade-point average.
Morrison earned the honor after competing as part of South Alabama's men's 4x400-meter relay group during the final day of the championship meet in Mobile.

Nieko Garnes, and Morrison also captured the Sun Belt title while setting both a school and facility record during the final event of the championships.The Jaguars finished fourth on both the men's and women's sides at the conference championships and will continue postseason competition May 27-30 at the NCAA East First Round in Lexington, Ky.
