HATTIESBURG, Miss. | Southern Miss scored five runs in the first and Kayla Girardina tossed a six-inning perfect game as the Golden Eagles walked South Alabama off in the sixth inning to take the 8-0 win Sunday and complete the series sweep at the Southern Miss Softball Complex.

With the loss, the Jaguars fall to 27-24 and 11-10 in Sun Belt play.

Key Moments
•    Southern Miss (33-20, 14-7 SBC) struck for five runs with two outs in the bottom of the first, as with the bases loaded, Abbi Troquille was hit by a pitch to plate the first run and one pitch later, Kinsley Gordon-Sivley recorded grand slam that was just out of reach of Presley Lively's leaping effort at the wall in left center (USM, 5-0)
•    In the bottom of the sixth, Hannah Christian lined a RBI-double and one batter later, Southern Miss ended the game when Carrie Green reached on an error, scoring two runs to walk the game off (USM, 8-0)

Key Stats
•    Troquille was hit by a pitch twice as she now leads the nation in the category with 24
•    Gordon-Sivley drove in four?? runs for the Golden Eagles with the grand slam
•    Girardina (17-7) tossed a perfect game retiring all 18 batters that she faced

•    The first-inning grand slam by Southern Miss in the bottom of the first marked the third allowed this season by Jaguar pitching
•    The perfect game thrown by the Golden Eagles marked the first time an opponent has done so against the Jags, ending a streak of 1,029 games with at least one base runner
