Notes

  • The Jags enter the outdoor season fresh off the Sun Belt Indoor Championships, where four Jaguars captured conference titles: Charleen Elizondo (Mile, 3000 meters), Brady Keller (Mile), Jonathan Henderson (High Jump), and Terek Logan (Pole Vault).
  • Eight of the nine Jaguars who qualified for the NCAA East First Rounds a year ago return for the outdoor campaign. Leading the way is reigning Sun Belt champion in the men's javelin, Reuben Booysen, who enters his junior season looking to defend his conference title. Other Jaguar qualifiers poised to make an impact include freshman Jackson Laughlin (Javelin), Will Frederick (Pole Vault), Terek Logan (Pole Vault), Jadon Thomason (400-meter hurdles), Iyana Johnson (Hammer Throw), Ava Grace Wheaton (Javelin), and Flora Dupans (Discus).
  • At last season's outdoor conference championships, the men's team finished fourth with 107 points, while the women's squad placed sixth with 68 points. Texas State swept the team titles, with the men scoring 145 points and the women tallying 119 to narrowly edge Louisiana (108).
  • South Alabama will also serve as the host site for the 2026 Sun Belt Conference Outdoor Track & Field Championships,  scheduled for May 14–16 at Jaguar Track in Mobile. It will mark the third time the Jaguars have hosted the meet, previously doing so in 2015 and 2021.
  • Head coach Paul Brueske enters his 19th season leading the Jaguar program.
  • Competition begins Friday with the hammer throw at 5:30 p.m. CT and concludes with the men's 3,000 meters at 6:20 p.m. CT. Saturday's slate starts with the men's discus at 10 a.m. CT and wraps up with the javelin at 1:30 p.m. CT.
  • Five other teams will compete in the invitational: Alabama State, North Georgia, Mobile, Southern Miss, and Western Carolina.
